“Such frail enclaves” – “things remembered, made things, things unmade” is a gathering of artworks by Brigid Collins that have been inspired by poems by Kathleen Jamie, Diana Hendry, Seamus Heaney and others at Thompson’s Tower, in Dr. Neil’s Garden, Duddingston, Edinburgh from Saturday 23rd- Saturday 30th September 2017.

The texts in the exhibition title come from Kathleen Jamie: “Such frail enclaves” (in The Bower) and Seamus Heaney: “things remembered, made things, things unmade” (in Squarings xxii). Together they correspond beautifully with the work that I’ve made and things that I am still making…

There will be an artist’s talk and poetry reading, on Saturday 30th September from 11.30am-12.30pm – please RSVP by 23rd September.

Entry to both the Gardens and the Tower is free and there is a cafe, The Garden Room for which opening hours are available at:
