‘Sparkle Returns’: An Exhibition at Thomson’s Tower in Dr. Neil’s Garden, Edinburgh
Saturday 29th June – Friday, 5th July (10am-4pm)

I’ll be showing a not previously exhibited small series of soft pastel drawings – with original artworks, cards and limited edition Giclee prints for sale, all made at Dr. Neil’s Garden – as part of a group show in Thomson’s Tower, which nestles deep in the garden, right on shore of Duddingston Loch. Mid-summer is my favourite time at which to show work that I’ve made in this very special place, as the garden really shines and expresses such abundance!

The title of the exhibition, ‘Sparkle Returns’, reflects that the group of jewellers who exhibit every summer here have this year invited guests, including me. The Jewellers are Amanda McGrattanEve SmithGillie Welstead and Cameron Murdoch and fellow invited exhibitors are Glass Artist, Maurice Gallagher and Poet, John Roberston.

The exhibition is free and will continue daily (10am-4pm) from Saturday 29th June – Friday, 5th July (10am-4pm) at Thomson’s Tower, Dr. Neil’s Garden, 5 Old Church Lane Duddingston Edinburgh EH15 3PX:

And all I ask is this — and you can see
how far the soul, when it goes under flesh,
is not a soul, is small and creaturish —
that every day the sun comes silently
to set my hands to work and that the moon
turns and returns to meet me when it’s done.
